Chapter One: USA Border and Starved Rock
Our first leg of our journey started in Kitchener ON and ended at Starved Rock, where we camped and hiked for our first night. Crossing the border was easy peasy. We thought it would be a bit of a thing, but as always, Steve is always very prepared and the TSA guy was super nice and friendly, so it went really well.
Our new adventure truck, the Toyota Tundra 1794 Edition is everything we thought it would be. So much room in the cab for all our junk and the bed had the perfect amount of space and latch hooks to secure our 8 bins. These bins contain our whole life right now, the unimportant junk is in a storage locker in Kitchener. Kaleb did well for his first real long road trip.
Anyways, here are some pics from the drive, our first campsite and our hiking journey. Thanks Monigram for the yummy coffee! Oh ya, there is one image where a guy was dancing and rocking our in the French Canyon of Starved Rock...it was pretty epic. Humans are gloriously weird.
